A Look Back at our origins

In 2017, Dark Times launched exclusively on Flickr, emerging alongside the excitement of Star Wars Battlefront II (EA) and the lingering hype of Rogue One. You can visit the Flickr page here.

How It Began

LEGO builders Jan_the_Creator, AceBricks, and Malen Garek teamed up to create the first iteration of the Dark Times RPG, hosted entirely on Flickr. Many participants joined from earlier communities like the 253rd Legion and the Bounty Hunter RPG.

Highlights

As we revisit that era, we’re highlighting standout entries from those early days to celebrate the creativity, worldbuilding, and collaboration that defined Dark Times.

Many friendships formed during that time, some even lasting to this day.
